Description
Show Them Early - Family Series - #10 Life is like a candle. Our body the wax, the flame our soul. If you think about it, each and every one of us have never lost the flame. The same fire that burned with Adam and Eve, the same fire today. For the years and years since, the candle was replaced but, the flame remained the same. Through earthquakes, flood, plague and cold, we are the one that were never blown out. Each time the candle burned low, it was replaced and the flame was exchanged. The candle, the waxes used are what we are. The color or type never mattered fore it was only to carry the fire. Each new generation, a new candle was lit and again, the same flame was used. We are the lucky ones, our fire still burns from the day of creation. Not like a match, lit win needed, we are a continuous flame, never out. What the flame hold is the desire to burn. It knows what to do and has since lit. What each candle offers to this flame is the memories created when bright. To think that the flame only contains the basics, I am not sure, but I believe more. Have you ever been there but, never have been, this may be the flame and the thoughts it contains. How many years has everyone been lit, equal if you believe, for we all come from the same fire once lit by God. This painting is one way of expressing that we are connected even before birth. A mother, her thoughts, what she see is also placed in the mind of an unborn child. To think that only drugs effect the unborn, happiness does as well. I do and will always believe that it is even deeper than that. Does her memories also become my memories. If so, does my grandmother memories somehow make their way to me. As complex as we are, the flame years old, I must believe there is more to me than me. My flame burns bright, given to me by generations of survival and hardship. My forefathers did everything to assure the flames survival. They did not relight it, they kept it safe and passed it on. We are now the holders of this flame. We are Adam, we are Eve and the flame will continue through us. What wax it finds is up to us. The care in which we choose to offer, to keep it burning is also up to us. We have been given a gift, or desire should always been to keep our flame safe and well lit. Someday, maybe, your great great grandchildren will see where you have been. If so, make it a great memory for them.
Always remember, they will have your flame to take care of. Steven Lebron Langston
