Description
Please wash your hands. Number Two In The Series. When I first move back to Tennessee, in the early 80s, I move from a home, Alaska, that had most everything. Clear running water, a bathroom with a toilet and even a tub. The granite things which we all have. Well, Tennessee, and our home there, was a bit different. Built in the 30s, the four room house lacked in the basics. We used an outhouse for several months until the funding was available to add what was needed. The water, rain made the water from the well mud and you could pick out the dirt by hand. I never complained and never had more fun. Acres and acres of the wild and untamed was my new way of life. The only issue was the fear I had at night when the creatures came calling, well that and going to the outhouse at midnight. I still here the beagles and their morning chase of something they wish to have. They became my closest friends and I, to this day, I am very close to my animals. What does this have to do with the image, I reflect and think of where we were at and what we worried about. I sometimes wonder how I ever made it, hours in the woods with no phone or care. This series of work will attempt to make you smile as I look to those days when life was so basic. It is complicated now and I do wonder what it was like to have a horse and saddle, not much more. Can't go back, but still I wonder what was on their mind. Take care always and stay safe, Steven
